Spring Rush 2010
Aug 26, 2008 The ministry and brotherhood of KYX looks forward to a new academic year and great opportunities.
Our God is the God of new beginnings and his mercies are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23). What a great encouragement as KYX starts a new year of ministry to college age men across the country! Active membership in the fraternity bears great responsibility, challenge, and adventure. The opportunities to change lives in big and small ways are ever present before you.
As the semester rolls on, the newness wears off and the pressures of college life begin to build. Research papers, projects, final exams, and a busy social calendar often diminish time for rest and spiritual recharging. If we are not careful to watch our lives closely, we will find ourselves in a desert wasteland. It is in the wasteland that bad habits and addictions are born. To combat the flesh and the hostile takeover of a Godly life, let us remember Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Each morning, and throughout the day, let us remember to crucify our flesh, to die to our selfish desires, and to let God live through us. This is counterintuitive to the American lifestyle of comfort and convenience. Let’s go against the grain, and as we rise each morning, let’s never forget to bury our flesh so the Spirit may reign supreme in our daily lives. Then let’s see the amazing things God will do.
