Active Members

Once pledgeship is completed, you will be sworn in as an active member of KYX, and are encouraged to exercise your skills as a Christian leader in the community. Many brothers choose to become officers of KYX, and many others seek leadership positions through their respective church, such as student pastors and youth leaders. As an active member, you will have the opportunity to participate in activities and events such as:

• Meetings
  During the school semester, each chapter holds weekly fellowship and business meetings. Normal business of the chapter is conducted, but the focus of the chapter meetings is to corporately praise and worship God and to teach His living Word. Christian discipleship is the core focus of KYX and almost every event that is held revolves around expanding each member’s intimacy and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  
  
• Spiritual Focusing Events
  KYX continually seeks to focus on God and His will. For this reason, each chapter holds regularly scheduled corporate prayer nights. These intense nights of prayer and spiritual revival may be as short as an hour or may last through the night until the Holy Spirit has accomplished all that is needed. In addition, each member is expected to seek God daily and to attend a church of his choice in the local community.
  
  
• Christian Outreach
  KYX is a firm believer that everyone should give of themselves for the Glory of God. Each chapter not only tithes 10% of its income to a Christian charity, they also regularly participate in projects that show God’s compassion and mercy on others. Some members participate in international missions while others chose to participate locally. Each chapter has service projects every semester to benefit the community in which the chapter resides.
  
  
• Academic Events
  KYX members are not average — and neither is their education. KYX prides itself on providing an environment conducive to a successful college education by regularly holding various study halls and providing internal tutoring and mentorship between the upper and lower classes. Our members are in college to obtain an education, and KYX is determined to help each man achieve the best that God has for him.

• Athletics
  KYX regularly participates in collegiate Intramural activities where available.
  
  
• Fellowship & Social Events
  Just like the churches that our members attend, KYX regularly holds social events to promote brotherly friendship bonds. These social interactions build on the foundation of the Christian purpose of the organization. While most events are for members only, some events are co-ed open events. KYX regularly hosts dances and social mixers that promote a Christian-based dating environment and regularly teams with our sister sorority, Sigma Phi Lambda to host these events. KYX also teams with other Christian organizations, such as the Baptist Student Union, Wesley Foundation, and Beta Upsilon Chi for Christian fellowship and social interaction.
